It is worth remembering Jim Abernethy, his involvement with VCC, and his help making Camp Oochigeas accessible to kids affected by childhood cancer. With the Tour For Kids ride cancellation this two-fold ride is a great opportunity to ride in the Beaver Valley region and look to support Camp Oochigeas https://support.ooch.org/celebrating-jim-abernethy with whatever level of support you can. The club has been asked to participate in the larger overall goal to raise $50,000 in memory of Jim which will be used to build lake access for kids with disabilities. The fund raiser is presently at 70% of this goal.

Jim’s cycling passion grew with Team Velocity and he was involved with their support for the Tour for Kids since its inception, supporting Oochigeas, Trillium and Camp Quality. He championed Marsh as a principle sponsor. 

A social event will be held afterwards hosted by one of our VCC members in compliance with local social distancing regulations which VCC will be supporting.
