Tanya’s Ride details finalized

Tanya's Ride all set to go

Firstly, we wanted to advise the membership of the great success of the Steve Hancock Memorial Ride held on Saturday. We had three ride groups (Peloton, Tempo and Social) with almost 40 riders participating. All groups stopping at the Ghost Bike to share their thoughts so thanks to all for coming out.

Next Up – Tanya’s Ride Saturday October 2nd from Albion Hills Conservation Area

Tanya’s Ride has become a core funding raiser for the Brain Injury Society of Toronto, and we are looking to continue supporting this important organization. Last year we raised over $20,000 and are looking to reach this level again in 2021.

Whether you can ride (a minimum donation of $100 is required) or not, please support this event by clicking on the link below. We are also designating the ride as a “Try-A-Ride “event for potential new members so please feel free to invite a friend or two. They just have to complete the additional link on RaceRoster to fully register.

We have now finalized all the plans and this year we are teaming up with master chef Luca at Vibo Restaurant to provide an alternative, and improved, approach to the post ride festivities. This, combined with the improved location at Albion Hills, should make for the best event ever.

Food

We plan on serving a hot vegetarian soup, a hot non-vegetarian sandwich, a vegetarian sandwich option, and a bean salad for the post ride meal. Luca will provide the oversight, and some of the components of the meal, while VCC will assume some of the preparation and responsibility for serving our riders and volunteers.

Please continue to use the Race Roster food choices for vegetarian or non-vegetarian (ignore the descriptions) so we can ensure everyone gets their preferred food choice.

Rides

We continue to offer four great ride choices, and if warranted, will split the Tempo group into two to accommodate a wider range of rider speeds. Therefore, we should be able to accommodate all rider distances and speeds.

Road (Peloton) – +/- 100 km starting at 10am (mid ride VCC supported stop to be included)
Road (Tempo) – +/- 80 km starting at 11am
Road (Social) – +/- 50 km starting at 11am
Gravel – +/- 70 km starting at 11am (gravel paced)

Please note that if the weather co-operates, and the temperatures are warmer than normal, we may move the ride start times back 30 minutes so that we can get you home a little sooner. More on that to follow.

Sign up soon to ensure we can provide you with your meal choice.
